Overstock.com is launching in December a contest called:
All I want for Christmas Giveaway.
It is a contest to win whatever you like (almost, it cannot be more than $1000) and you do not need to buy anything to compete.
You have to complete and submit an entry available at http://www.overstockholidaycontest.com during the promotional period which is from 12:00AM (MST) December 3, 2007 until 11:59PM (MST) December 7, 2007.
I know what you are thinking, but the answer is no, you cannot submit more than one entry per person per day.
I mean, you can try to cheat, but you will just waste time, so don't do it.
To be allowed you also must live in US, be at least 18 and of course JUST in the promotional period.
Then you have to give an email address, the requested contact informations and of course choose an item you would like to win (less than $1000 excluding PP.)
But it is not finished.
You must also have 5 friends.
In this case it is easy to find at least five people willing to win something.
So, you send an invitation link to each of your five friends by email.
Also in this case I know what you are thinking and also in this case the answer is NO.
You cannot use 5 different emails belonging to you.
If they find it out, you will be disqualified.
Each of your friends will submit his entry, contact informations and invite other 5 friends.

Yes, it is a nice way to collect customers, but it pays off.
The chances to win something are not bad, since each day during the Promotional Period, one (1) Entrant and that Entrant’s Entrant Friends will each be awarded: one (1) $1,000.00 Overstock Gift Card toward the purchase of Entrant and Entrant Friend’s selected item (or any other item on http://www.overstock.com, excluding Cars and Auctions items).
The total Daily First Prize giveaway value during the Promotional Period is $6,000.00, per day, provided the Entrant sent five (5) invitation links to five (5) Entrant Friends and each Entrant Friend entered the Sweepstakes.
That makes the retail Value of the First Prize $30,000.00, provided each Entrant sent five (5) invitation links to five (5) Entrant Friends and each Entrant Friend entered the Sweepstakes.
But this is not all.
There is also a Grand Prize: One (1) Entrant will be awarded: one (1) $5,000.00 Overstock Gift Card (in addition to Entrant’s First Prize(s), if any) toward the purchase of all five (5) of Entrant’s selected items (or any other item on http://www.overstock.com, excluding Cars and Auctions items).
All together makes $35,000.

The selection is going to be done randomly both the First Prize and the Grand Prize, the first daily and the other at the end of the promotional period.
If you win, you will be notified either by phone or email.
