The best Games for your Children for Christmas

On the sound advice of the Merc's Mike Antonucci, who thinks NIMF's list of good games is pretty lame, here's my ten games you can and should get your kids this year.

Rock Band (360, PS3, PS2)
Put Dad on the drums, Mom on lead vocals, and Sis on bass guitar. You can be just like the Von Trapp family, without all the running from the Nazis.
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
The two-player mode lets anybody pick up a second Wiimote and be helpful.
Portal (360, PS3, PC)
Okay, so the rest of The Orange Box is Mature-rated and not appropriate for kids. But the Teen-rated Portal is a mostly non-violent, funny, puzzling game that everybody can enjoy and be astounded by together.
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo DS)
A grand adventure for those long, long car trips, assuming they don't get motion sickness from using the stylus for hours on end.
Elite Beat Agents (Nintendo DS)
Sure, it came out last year. But very few people picked up this amazing rhythm game that lets you tap out beats to the rhythm of songs like "Material Girl." And you need it.
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party (Wii)
Jump around on the floor while waving Wii remotes to the rhythm of dance music. Lose weight, have fun. Up to four players at once! My mom and dad love DDR. Really.
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials And Tribulations (Nintendo DS)
The third in a series of lawyer adventure games that challenge you to find clues and prove your clients' innocence in court. Lots of reading.
Zack And Wiki: Quest For Barbaros' Treasure (Wii)
This puzzle game, reminiscent of classic PC games like King's Quest, is difficult. But it'll toughen your kids up. Get their lateral thinking muscles a workout. Make them learn how to deal with intense frustration.
My Spanish Coach (Nintendo DS)
Got a kid starting a foreign language in school? Put them at the head of the class with this interactive language trainer that speaks words and phrases back to you. Also available in French.
Guitar Hero III:
Legends Of Rock (Wii, 360, PS2, PS3) If your system doesn't run Rock Band, this is also an excellent choice. Yes, I realize a lot of these games are rhythm games. Give the gift of music, people.
