Where the adult sees the movie, the child sees reality

"Nature, no less than Life, is an imitation of Art."
"Where, if not from the Impressionists, do we get those wonderful brown fogs that come creeping down our streets, blurring the gas-lamps and changing the houses into monstrous shadows?
To whom, if not to them and their master, do we owe the lovely silver mists that brood over our river, and turn to faint forms of fading grace curved bridge and swaying barge?
The extraordinary change that has taken place in the climate of London during the last ten years is entirely due to a particular school of Art. "
"At present, people see fogs, not because there are fogs, but because poets and painters have taught them the mysterious loveliness of such effects.
There may have been fogs for centuries in London. I dare say there were.
But no one saw them, and so we do not know anything about them. "
Oscar Wilde

This provocative comparison comes into my mind when I think of the massacres, the recent one in Newtown.
Reality is very often the creation of the Media.
And when most media send daily images of shootings, murders, violent scenes, the ones (very many) that still have a childish mind cannot see the difference between fake and real and simply do in reality what they do in video games or see done in movies and TV.

The parasite

There are two realities: the one you can touch, and the one you believe.
And there are also two categories:
The one who works and produces (99%) and the one who lives (beautifully) on the work of the 99%.

Did you ever see a plant invaded by the ivy?
The Ivy is beautifully green, glossy, looks wonderful.
The tree at the beginning looks suffering.
Looses one branch after the other and in the end is completely dry and dead.

The tree doesn’t know that without the parasite would live much better, at least would survive, the parasite KNOWS that without the tree wouldn´live.
That is why the IVY would never leave the tree, and the tree leaves the ivy sucking its blood.
May be there is also a subliminal procedure among plants....

Skype, big brother?

Skype has long provided assistance to governments
The Washington Post reported yesterday that:
Skype, the online phone service long favored by political dissidents, criminals and others eager to communicate beyond the reach of governments, has expanded its cooperation with law enforcement authorities to make online chats and other user information available to police.
The changes, which give the authorities access to addresses and credit card numbers, have drawn quiet applause in law enforcement circles but hostility from many activists and analysts.
To back up its claim, the post cites interviews with "industry and government officials familiar with the changes" who "poke on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the issue publicly." Ugh.
However, a quick Google search for "Skype law enforcement handbook" quickly turns up an official looking document on the whistleblower website cryptome.org, dated October 2007, which makes it clear that Skype has long been providing the assistance that the Post claims is new.
From Skype's 2007 law enforcement handbook:

In response to a subpoena or other court order, Skype will provide:

• Registration information provided at time of account registration • E-mail address • IP address at the time of registration • Financial transactions conducted with Skype in the past year, although details of the credit cards used are stored only by the billing provider used (for instance, Bibit, RBS or PayPal) • Destination telephone numbers for any calls placed to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) • All service and account information, including any billing address(es) provided, IP address (at each transaction), and complete transactional information
While Skype's law enforcement handbook suggests that the company does not have access to IP address session logs, high-profile criminal case from 2006 suggests that the company does.
Kobi Alexander, the founder of Comverse, was nabbed in Negombo, Sri Lanka yesterday by a private investigator.
He is wanted by the US government in connection with financial fraud charges.
He is accused of profiting from some very shady stock-option deals, to the detriment of Comverse shareholders.
Once the deals became public and he was indicted, he resigned as CEO and fled the US.
Alexander was traced to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo after he placed a one-minute call using Skype.
That was enough to alert authorities to his presence and hunt him down.
This makes sense.
Skype clients connect to Skype's central servers (so that users can make calls to non Skype users, and learn which of their friends are online and offline), and so the servers naturally learn the IP address that the user is connecting from. This is not surprising.

Going back to be my brain´s publisher

On one side I would like to hide in my hole, which is getting narrower even in this "rich" Germany.
I never really believed or liked this prosperity, I always lived beyond my means, so it is not difficult now, living in the same way, to survive.
Not looking at TV, not reading newspapers, illuding myself with the lies the propaganda tells everyday, going to you tube and looking for videos about anthropology, science, ethnology and may be cooking and gardening.
Forgetting this insanity, not looking or listening to what happens around me, "anyway" I think "I can do nothing to change".
I was shocked when I saw the Greek elections results, I was so sure that a population, cheated in every possible way, reduced to starvation, with no future, would have voted against Europe.
I was shockingly wrong.
In that moment I realized they were stronger than the mass, stronger than desperation, stronger than reality.
In that moment it was clear that democracy was slavery, that law was injustice and justice was a mere word.
It meant, as Celente says "JUST US".
I would understand that in Italy.
There the majority still has "something" and hope.
Statistics say nobody believes in the light at the end of the tunnel, but it is like heaven, nobody believes in it, but everybody hopes that something will be THERE. My mother, who was brought up like a catholic, used to say: I do not believe there is something, but I pray the same, you never know...
May be that is the trick.
Leaving hope.
I would so much like, but I cannot.
I cannot go on seeing and pretending I do not see.
I cannot let the big wave pass and try to be on its border, trying to feel the least and not looking to the ones in the middle.
But how?
I see it clearly now.
They want the mass starving, They want the mass enraged.
They want the mass marching and protesting.
Because they know that the ones like me, the ones that hate wars and are peaceful and want to change the world in a peaceful way, those, with thousands of others do things they would never do if let by themselves.
Put together 100 intelligent people and you will have a mass of idiots.
They will begin to break cars and windows etc. They will become "terrorists" "revolutionaries" "Untrustable people".
And the people with the broken cars, windows, those people not ONLY will accept a dictator, they WILL ASK for SOMEBODY to bring back law and order.
You do not need to put in jail ALL, you need to put in jail the FEW leaders, and the others will just shut up.
I would like, but I cannot shut up...what can I do?

How freedom can have little to do with freedom

"America’s willingness to stand up for the internet should be welcomed.
But it has to be said that in doing so it is also defended its interests: no other country benefits as much from the status quo in the online world.
Since much of the internet’s infrastructure is based in America and most of its traffic zips through it, America is in a unique position to eavesdrop, should it be so inclined.
America’s internet firms also capture most of the profit pool of the online industry."

How to have a green behaviour

10 . Make Paper Obsolete

Imagine curling up on the couch with the morning paper and then using the same sheet of paper to read the latest novel by your favorite author. That's one possibility of electronic paper, a flexible display that looks very much like real paper but can be reused over and over. The display contains many tiny microcapsules filled with particles that carry electric charges bonded to a steel foil. Each microcapsule has white and black particles that are associated with either a positive or negative charge. Depending on which charge is applied; the black or white particles surface displaying different patterns. In the United States alone, more than 55 million newspapers are sold each weekday.

9.Bury The Bad Stuff

Carbon dioxide is the most prominent greenhouse gas contributing to global warming. According to the Energy Information Administration, by the year 2030 we will be emitting close to 8,000 million metric tons of CO2. Some experts say it's impossible to curb the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere and that we just have to find ways to dispose of the gas. One suggested method is to inject it into the ground before it gets a chance to reach the atmosphere. After the CO2 is separated from other emission gases, it can be buried in abandoned oil wells, saline reservoirs, and rocks. While this sounds great, scientists are not sure whether the injected gas will stay underground and what the long-term effects are, and the costs of separation and burying are still far too high to consider this technology as a practical short-term solution.

8.Let Plants and Microbes Clean Up After Us

Bioremediation uses microbes and plants to clean up contamination. Examples include the cleanup of nitrates in contaminated water with the help of microbes, and using plants to uptake arsenic from contaminated soil, in a process known as phytoremediation. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has used it to clean up several sites. Often, native plant species can be used for site cleanup, which are advantageous because in most cases they don't require pesticides or watering. In other cases scientists are trying to genetically modify the plants to take up contaminants in their roots and transport it all the way to the leaves for easy harvesting.

7.Plant Your Roof

It's a wonder that this concept attributed to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of Seven Wonders of the World, didn't catch on sooner in the modern world. Legend has it that the roofs, balconies, and terraces of the royal palace of Babylon were turned into gardens by the king's order to cheer up one of his wives. Roof gardens help absorb heat, reduce the carbon dioxide impact by taking up Co2 and giving off oxygen, absorb storm water, and reduce summer air conditioning usage. Ultimately, the technique could lessen the "heat island" effect that occurs in urban centers. Butterflies and songbirds could also start frequenting urban garden roofs, and like the king's wife, could even cheer up the inhabitants of the building. Here, a green roof is tested at Penn State.

6.Harness Waves and Tides

The oceans cover more than 70 percent of the Earth's surface. Waves contain an abundance of energy that could be directed to turbines, which can then turn this mechanical power into electrical. The obstacle to using this energy source has been the difficulty in harnessing it. Sometimes the waves are too small to generate sufficient power. The trick is to be able to store the energy when enough mechanical power is generated. New York City's East River is now in the process of becoming the test bed for six tide-powered turbines, and Portugal's reliance on waves in a new project is expected to produce enough power for more than 1,500 homes. Here, a buoy system capable of capturing the oceans power in the form of offshore swells is illustrated by researchers at Oregon State University.

5.Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion

The biggest solar collector on Earth is our ocean mass. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the oceans absorb enough heat from the sun to equal the thermal energy contained in 250 billion barrels of oil each day. The U.S. consumes about 7.5 billion barrels a year. OTEC technologies convert the thermal energy contained in the oceans and turn it into electricity by using the temperature difference between the water's surface, which is heated, and the cold of the ocean's bottom. This difference in temperature can operate turbines that can drive generators. The major shortcoming of this technology is that it's still not efficient enough to be used as a major mechanism for generating power.

4.Sunny New Ideas

The sun's energy, which hits Earth in the form of photons, can be converted into electricity or heat. Solar collectors come in many different forms and are already used successfully by energy companies and individual homeowners. The two widely known types of solar collectors are solar cells and solar thermal collectors. But researchers are pushing the limits to more efficiently convert this energy by concentrating solar power by using mirrors and parabolic dishes. Part of the challenge for employing solar power involves motivation and incentives from governments. In January, the state of California approved a comprehensive program that provides incentives toward solar development. Arizona, on the other hand, has ample sunshine but has not made solar energy a priority. In fact in some planned communities it is downright discouraged by strict rules of aesthetics.

3.The 'H' Power

Hydrogen fuel cell usage has been touted as a pollution-free alternative to using fossil fuels. They make water by combining hydrogen and oxygen. In the process, they generate electricity. The problem with fuel cells is obtaining the hydrogen. Molecules such as water and alcohol have to be processed to extract hydrogen to feed into a fuel cell. Some of these processes require the using other energy sources, which then defeat the advantages of this "clean" fuel. Most recently, scientists have come up with ways to power laptops and small devices with fuel cells, and some car companies are promising that soon we'll be seeing cars that emit nothing but clean water. The promise of a "hydrogen economy," however, is not one that all experts agree will ever be realized.

2.Remove the Salt

According to the United Nations, water supply shortages will affect billions of people by the middle of this century. Desalination, basically removing the salt and minerals out of seawater, is one way to provide potable water in parts of the world where supplies are limited. The problem with this technology is that it is expensive and uses a lot of energy. Scientists are working toward better processes where inexpensive fuels can heat and evaporate the water before running it through membranes with microscopic pores to increase efficiency.

1.Make Oil from Just about Anything

Any carbon-based waste, from turkey guts to used tires, can, by adding sufficient heat and pressure, be turned into oil through a process called thermo-depolymerizations, This is very similar to how nature produces oil, but with this technology, the process is expedited by millions of years to achieve the same byproduct. Proponents of this technology claim that a ton of turkey waste can cough up about 600 pounds of petroleum.

Mediacracy

Can you arrive to accept the most flagrant violations of reality?
When democracy evolves in Mediacracy, when power controls even perceptions, then war can be peace and lie is truth.
When the only reality you can see is a lie, then the lie is truth and when the only reality you can live is slavery freedom is slavery.
If only politicians can regulate the big corporations, then big corporations buy the politicians.
You have illusion of choice when you are not able to choose, because you are not educated to choose.
Nobody teaches you to discuss, to look for alternative reality.
You have ONE only reality.
You can chose among many trivialities which in the end are ALL the same.

Will they?

"The International Telecommunications Union, the UN agency at the center of a firestorm over new efforts to regulate the Internet, is preparing a social media campaign to target what it expects will be fierce opposition to a revised telephone treaty being decided next month at a secret conference in Dubai.
That's according to a key ITU internal planning document that appeared Saturday on the website WCITLeaks, which has been posting a steady stream of documents leading up to the conference.
Even as ITU officials accelerate increasingly clumsy efforts to deflect the wrath of Internet users over next month's World Conference on International Telecommunications, more documents leaking out ahead of the meeting continue to expose the agency's misstatements."
"The Internet community at large will not cede technical nor economic control over the Net to national governments who will destroy this great work."
Will they?

Emerging ideas that are shaping our future

How can you improve your life?
One way, the first way I can actually think of improving my life is beginning to improve the place where I live.
And by improving I certainly mean making it more comfortable.
How?
Having a nice cool house in summer, a nice, cozy warm house in winter and ALL the tons of hot water I need for my showers, my babies baths and my pets needs...
I could begin reading, searching the net, trying to improve my knowledge, doing it by myself, but, since I am NOT a professional how to understand what is best , what lasts longer, what comes cheaper and so on..
I could also search for a good home energy audit franchise, which is definitely the best idea.
I am on the opinion that the best solution is letting the experts do the job, because they just know how to do it.
Where do you start?
I would immediately contact the Home Energy team.
They will come, check and provide energy efficiency solutions through local home improvement contractors in your own community.
They are ALL experts in building science, provided with certifications from the industry’s most trusted and respected certification bodies: the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and the Building Performance Institute (BPI).
They’re expert Home Energy Survey Professionals, Home Energy Raters, Building Envelope Professionals, Building Analysts and "Energy Smart" Home Improvement Contractors.
Following my links you will find websites for contractors, from there you will be able to contact all necessary people to fulfill your needs.
I do not know how much better my future will be, but I am sure MY HOME will be warmer and much more comfortable...and may be I will even spend less...

The permanent warfare

"IN 1961, President Dwight D. Eisenhower left office warning of the growing power of the military-industrial complex in American life.
Most people know the term the president popularized, but few remember his argument.

In his farewell address, Eisenhower called for a better equilibrium between military and domestic affairs in our economy, politics and culture.
He worried that the defense industry’s search for profits would warp foreign policy and, conversely, that too much state control of the private sector would cause economic stagnation.
He warned that unending preparations for war were incongruous with the nation’s history.
He cautioned that war and war making took up too large a proportion of national life, with grave ramifications for our spiritual health."

My question is: can a country whose a big part of its economy is based on the productions of weapons, that spent over $700 billion last year, about half of all military spending in the world, be defined as a peaceful country?
Can a country like that pretend to bring peace and democracy to the rest of the world?

"From lawmakers’ constant use of “support our troops” to justify defense spending, to TV programs and video games like “NCIS,” “Homeland” and “Call of Duty,” to NBC’s shameful and unreal reality show “Stars Earn Stripes,” Americans are subjected to a daily diet of stories that valorize the military while the storytellers pursue their own opportunistic political and commercial agendas.
Of course, veterans should be thanked for serving their country, as should police officers, emergency workers and teachers.
But no institution — particularly one financed by the taxpayers — should be immune from thoughtful criticism."

When a t shirt is NOT a sign of quality, it is a sign of THE quality

What could be a better promotion for your company than somebody who wears your logo everywhere?
And what could be cheaper?
People tend to be willing to do so, when they are offered a good quality t shirt, may be something well fitting, good quality, pure cotton with waterproof, washing machine proof colors. And I am NOT talking of the usual cheap imported stuff that is either too big or too sloppy or with unbearable colors.
I am talking about something made in USA, good quality cotton, where your logo or name or whatever is printed with t shirt screen printing.
I am talking about a company which has, as they say, "over 20 years of experience in providing product and equipment identification solutions".
Twenty years you can see in the high quality t shirt, in every small detail, in all what makes the difference and gives a touch to the name or logo of your company.
It can also be something employees can proudly wear in company meetings or seminars or shows. Something like a uniform, a nice one, that shows they belong together and they also belong to a high quality company.
If you really want something unique and special, you can chose high quality embroidered shirts.
Either you chose one or the other you can be sure that your name or your logo or whatever drawing you decide to print, will be displayed in the best way.

When competition gets hot

Solar panels Chinese manufacturers make about 50 million of them a year.
Ten years ago, solar panels were made mostly in the United States, Germany, and Japan.
They also have four of the world’s top five solar-panel manufacturers.
What makes this particularly impressive is that the industry elsewhere has been doubling in size every two years, and Chinese manufacturers have done even better, doubling their production roughly every year.
That isn’t due to cheap labor in Chinese factories: making solar cells requires such expensive equipment and materials that labor contributes just a small fraction of the overall cost.
The main reason is that it’s faster and cheaper for them to build factories, thanks to inexpensive, efficient construction crews and China’s streamlined permitting process.
But the solar market is rapidly evolving, and technological innovations are becoming increasingly essential.
Though demand for solar power continues to grow around the world, the market is flooded with photovoltaic panels.
For solar manufacturers today, that means inventing cells that are more efficient at converting light into electricity, keeping cost down while converting efficiency.
Gallium arsenide a competitor to crystalline silicon, can be made into films of material that can generate as much electricity as a typical silicon cell but are just a hundredth as thick, potentially reducing material costs.
Such thin films can also be fl exible: they could be rolled up, reducing packaging and shipping costs, and they could be built into roofi ng shingles to reduce installation costs.
Thin film technology will eventually challenge conventional solar panels, if that happens, Chinese makers of crystalline silicon solar cells may not dominate the market forever.

Constantly on the move...constantly high ranking

If you dream of having your website on the top, at least in the first ten positions of the major search engines you certainly do not have a light task in front of you. And the most difficult part is not even reaching them; it actually is KEEPING it there.
Everything has to change, in order to keep it always the same...
Isn´t it frustrating to work a lot, searching the right keywords, making the best possible web page, search engine friendly and in the mean time pleasant to the eye, easy to read and also easy to understand (sometimes making something for a robot, you miss the human touch...), well after ALL that work, you finally are there...but after a few weeks the worst happens and your website is nowhere in sight, almost unreachable...?
What happened?
Simple: they only changed algorithm, so you have to begin again...
Unless you find good seo consulting services, let the expert do the job, and just relax...once in a while checking.
Why seo consulting services?
For millions of reasons, but the most important is because they know what you do not, and they have the experience and the time to change strategy and ways.
They know, because it is their job.
Get ready to stand out from the crowd, thanks to expert advice and good and serious work.
Do you remember the tips and tricks you have been dying to know?
Well, now it doesn’t matter that much any more, because others will care for them... And how do you know if seo consulting services work?
Very simple: your rankings will be the proof.

You are just a few steps away from being very successful

Isn´t it everybody’s dream to be successful?
But it is not so easy as saying, it requires a little bit more...
Unless you work in a kind of team.
One for all and all for one, strength is power and many is strength and so on... So what is the secret of a successful franchise marketing?
Very easy to answer: as the number of franchisees in a franchise system of SEO websites grows, the benefits of local search engine rankings grow consequently for network members.
Once understood, you still have to do it, so, how to?
Of course looking for the right company that will help you to reach your goal.
One that can also provide seo website redesign.
Today market is quite competitive, so you need a sort of aggressive approach to design services.
Whether you're looking for a corporate website, B2B or an e-commerce website, you should be sure to find the right help.
Making a shopping cart or any kind of search engines photo galleries is not so easy, but it can be if you have the right template.
Their website marketing software includes also a content management system, which is what you need for a website revision.
So, if you can have the right seo software that provides you ALL the features you need, or even better, if executes automatically on your behalf and let you refine automated input as you see fit, what could you look for more?
You just have to concentrate on what you can do best: your job.

Burocracy Italian style

Some years ago, when I had to apply to renew my passport I was tempted to buy an illegal one in Napoli, it would certainly have cost me less troubles. As I see, also in USA they are trying to copy Italy.
May be some expert from Cosa Nostra could easily find a good job in US...
Ignoring massive public opposition, and despite having recently admitted that it is already using the "proposed" forms illegally without approval, the State Department is trying again to get approval for a pair of impossible-to-complete new passport application forms that would, in effect, allow the State Department to deny you a passport simply by choosing to send you either or both of the new "long forms".

Early last year, the State Department proposed a new "Biographical Questionnaire" for passport applicants, which would have required anyone selected to receive the new long-form DS-5513 to answer bizarre and intrusive personal trivia questions about everything from whether you were circumcised (and if so, with what accompanying religious rituals) to the dates of all of your mother's pre- and post-natal medical appointments, your parents' addresses one year before you were born, every address at which you have ever resided, and your lifetime employment history including the names and phone numbers of each of your supervisors at every job you have ever held.
Most people would be unable to complete the proposed new form no matter how much time and money they invested in research.
Requiring someone to complete Form DS-5513 would amount to de facto denial of their application for a passport -- which, as we told the State Department, appeared to be the point of the form.

The State Department's notice of the proposal in the Federal Register didn't include the form itself. After we published the proposed Form DS-5513, the story went viral and more than 3,000 public comments objecting to the proposal were filed with the State Department in the final 24 hours of the comment period.

After that fiasco, the State Department went dark for several months, and claimed that they would "revise" the form. But they didn't give up, and apparently they didn't listen to (or didn't care) what they had been told by members of the public in our comments.

The State Department is now seeking approval for a (slightly) revised Form DS-5513 as well as a new Form DS-5520, also for passport applicants, containing many of the same questions.

The best way to have results

If your goal is the success of your company it is a must that you understand:

1)Why the stream media is dying
2)Why you need a fundamentally new approach to the web
3)Embrace the reality that you cannot just change your tactics, what you do and what you are have to change as well.
4)All this can be quite inexpensive and quick.
The hard part is to know how.

What is the meaning of simple?
The simplest solution, in my opinion, is to find the best SEO company and let them work for you.
Could something be more simple than that?

For example SNG Chicagocould be the right company to look for.
If you already found out (with unsuccessful moves) that the right placement doesn’t come accidentally, but it is the result of the right work, then I shouldn’t waste too many words.
You should just look at their results, at what they achieved in their field and you would understand that could be the right choice.

Who created the Internet?

Was the Internet created by Big Government or Big Capital?
The answer is: Neither.
This is what’s most notable about the debate over the Net’s origins: it misses the most interesting part of the story.
We live in a world that assumes that the most important and original products in society — bridges, cars, iPads, hospitals, 787s, houses — are created either by states or by corporations. And yet, against all odds, the Internet came from somewhere else entirely.
But the Internet, as it is now, was created by the people.
People who used a global network to reach other people.
The Internet is the most powerful tool of communication.
And communication is nothing else than people.

Online Marketing on a Shoestring Budget

Tips for Poor Web Startups.
If you own a small or medium sized company there are certain things you cannot avoid doing, one of them is certainly a good marketing.
And the attribute small or medium already includes "local".
But how to achieve the best results on a small budget?
Do it yourself is cheap but not always works.
Sometimes is just a waste of time and also if the money spent is little, sometimes it is just thrown out of the window (in this case out of the already small budget).
So, the first recommendation is: look for an expert.
Better look for a local SEO.
Why?
Because a local Seo knows ALL what is effective and knows every detail of a good Local business marketing.
Knows how where and when.
Knows the right where, the right how and the right when.
ALL what you probably do not know.
And most important will know it ALSO tomorrow, when things like algorithms will change, or the tastes of the people will change. Where there are customers a good SEO knows the right place to be. And what about your competition?
Do you have the right tools to fight it?
Sometimes reaching a good position on the local search is enough to be number first.
People do not like to search for hours, usually the first choice is the one that gets the most traffic.
And traffic means revenues, doesn’t it?
What could be good to reach the local customers?
What about local search engine news?
It sounds good to my ears... What about catching ALSO the customers that are not actually searching for you?
What about inviting them with the right approach?
A good local search optimization company knows everything...
Certainly much more than what you do…

Do I have reccomendations?

"I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any recommendations for beginner blog writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it."

Well, i do not think I have any, since I would need some myself...
I began this blog some time ago.
I wanted to write about VoIP, that is why the name...
But after a while (not too long) I ran out of ideas, because you can write several pages about VoIp but then you are finished, unless you are an IT guru, which I am not.
My knowledge about IT is mostly my husband...he is an expert, not me, so it is kind of limited.
So, I decided I would go on writing about technology, which is kind of wider subject.
But then I liked also to talk about myself and I am kind of a philosopher, so I ended up saying: in this blog I will talk about VoIp, technology, myself and life.
So I can write about whatever I like.
I write when I fell like doing it and when I have something to say, and I am not too lazy to do it...
If thoughts were posts my blog would be full of them, may be 100 a day...it is easier to think than to write.
The nice thing of blogging is that you can do it and you are not obliged to do it.
So my dear friend, welcome in the blogosphere and do not forget to write your blog address, so that I can have a look.
The next nice thing after blogging is commenting somebody else´s blog...

Power of the Internet

Yesterday I was talking with my friend Grazia about our need to plant some new bushes in our garden.
I really do not know exactly what I would like, and it is very important to think what you want BEFORE, because it takes some years to see the result, and if you do not like it, then it is too late...
Well after a few hours, when I was looking for something else, magically, my screen was full of every possible kind of bushes and links where to find them and everything else one could dream to find...
That is called SMO and means social media optimization...
Then I got kind of curious and wanted to know more, about SMO I mean.
So I began searching and found this interesting article, neatly written, easy to understand, also for somebody like me who is not exactly an IT guru...but nevertheless who wants to understand and know all the possibilities that the NET can offer...
So I simply went on and found out the best way to optimize your website is finding search engine marketing experts and leaving them the task.
Exactly what I found in another article from the same writer, who went on explaining that is not just important to know, but it is even more important to understand how to use what you know...knowledge is for nothing if you do not know how to use it...
At this point, I began to be quite intrigued, it was no more a matter of bushes, but it began to be a matter of good placement for my website.
So I simply followed the writer and landed in another article about search engine marketing firm, how to find the right one and choose the best.
Well, I still haven’t chosen the bushes for my garden, but I certainly know how to chose the right company for SMO...

When outsourcing is outperforming

What can you do to boost your website?
To have the perfect ranking?
There are many things one could do, if he actually had the time to do them, if he could just concentrate on them.
It could even be a full time job, may be a rewarding one.
But, honestly, isn’t it better to concentrate in your real business, in producing the things you want to sell?
So the best solution sometimes is to do nothing or almost nothing, and let the experts do what they are much better than you in doing, because it is their job, and because they know how to do it.
Optimization, local SeEO optimization, payperclick, leads, social network, those are all things you must know how to use and what to do in order to have the best results.
And who has better results than a company that itself is on page 1 on Google?
May be your job is THAT, you are a SEO expert, or you would like to become one, so why not taking the chance and becoming a SEO reseller?
You can look at their SEO reseller programsand have a good idea how they work...how superior they are in ALL what concerns SEO:reports, analytics, email notifications, and workflow access with a privately labeled customer portal.
Using their services doesn’t mean you lose control of your customers, on the contrary, you are able AT ANY MOMENT to check where your customers stand, thanks to the possibility of interaction with their account team.

Internet: the new way to interconnect people

In just 40 years, our whole civilization has become dependent on the Internet, in more ways than we could count.
So when you hearactivist groups threatening to crash the whole thing, or doomsday preppers warning of a global Internet failure, it's pretty scary.
But could someone actually bring the entire Internet down?
We asked an expert.
Taking down the Internet is a lot easier said than done, according to IT expert Dewayne Hendricks, and the Internet is very much here to stay.
Known as the "Broadband Cowboy," Hendricks has worked with AT&T, Cisco, WorldCom, and Lucent, and is currently CEO of Tetherless Access Inc.
"The first thing you need to know about the Internet," Hendricks tells , "is that there is no such thing as 'the' Internet."
Simple, independent, and distributed The Internet, says Hendricks, is "merely a series of highly distributed packet switchers." Most people get this wrong, he argues. "People tend to think it's this one thing - and it's not - it's important to get this idea across that it's thousands of independently owned and operated networks - networks that are tied together by physical connections that use a common protocol."
It's this very quality that has endowed the Internet with the capacity to not just remain live and active under extreme circumstances, but to repair itself and adapt when necessary.
Taking the Internet down, therefore, is very much like trying to herd cats.
It's essentially a network of networks.
And indeed, there has been some speculation about what it would take to bring down the entire Internet.
Earlier this year, Gizmodo's Sam Biddle made a heroic effort at trying to figure out how to destroy the Internet, suggesting that it could be done (however unlikely) by cutting all the cables that bind the Internet together, ruining the root servers, and destroying all the data centers. Assuming this could be done, all the world's digital data would be left frozen on local machines.
"Nothing can get anywhere, because all the roads, bridges, and traffic lights are in ruin," Biddle writes, "All that's left of the Internet is your office intranet, or the file-swapping in your dorm. The tiny shreds.
There are nets, but none of them are inter."
Unfortunately - or fortunately depending on your persuasion - Biddle is not exactly correct. What he failed to realize is that, where there's people, there's an Internet.

Best as Blue Global Media

Success is the result of a good leadership, good planning and focusing just on the best.
And good leadership has as a result a successful team of employees.
This is important in good times, but even more in hard times.
Blue Global Media, as they say" avoided the dreaded “sophomore slump” by making the 2012 Inc. 500 List of Fastest-Growing Private U.S. Companies.
What does that mean?
It means that in very difficult times they came in at #218 on the list and #31 in the Advertising & Marketing category.
Those two goals achieved thanks to the time spent pursuing the best.
Which includes also the ability to chose between leads that produce results and others that do not.
They also focus on the Affiliate network, helping the partners creating platforms stronger than ever before.
Their strategy was also expanding in other countries like UK and Canada.
If you are looking for a career, if you want to work in a successful team, why not trying the Payday affiliate program?

The economy

"Economy is about what we actually do to stay alive: make things, trade things, grow things, run things. Finance is supposed to be about maintaining the flows of accumulated wealth to support these things we do - with a modest service charge for the financiers who do the work. But in the great divorce of truth from reality in our time, finance is only about pretending to maintain these "capital" flows. In fact, it has degenerated into a set of looting operations, swindles, frauds, and political dodges, and it is on the verge of blowing up."JK

The economy now is about markets.
How markets react, what is the interest rate, who wins who looses.
Economy is the fight between the people who produce and the ones who suck.
The first getting poorer and the second richer.
Exactly like in the Medioeval times.
On one side the poor who worked and on the other the rich who enjoyed life.
And in between the mass of lawyers, judges, polititcians who make laws that look in favor of the poor, but make the rich richer.
When reality is nothing else than a dream, then the dream can be manipulated.
It doesn´t matter what it is, it matters what you believe it is.

Supreme Court Ruling

Today the last nail in the democracy´s coffin was put in Europe.
The road is clear now.
Europe and the dictatorship won.
The moment the ECB and the ESM will own the European debt it will be easy to definitely grab the last shadow of nationality from the sovraign states.
It will be enough to put on the market the bonds or bonos and the state will have two choices: obey or default.
And default won´t be Argentina style, it will be much worse.
So they will obey.
Democracy is finished the moment they do not care anymore for whom people will vote.
Whoever wins doesn´t matter, since he will have no power.
All will be decided in Brussels, what you produce, what you consume, what you earn and the taxes you pay.
The only possible road will be revolution.
But also for that they will be very careful that the majority of the population NEVER arrives to the point of desperation.
They will always prospect the light at the end of the tunnel.
When? Tomorrow.
And while our generation will be waiting fo a better future we will die.
And the next generation won´t even know or care what the better future is, they will be too busy to struggle for the present.

A Ferrari with the 500 fiat engine

Draghi succeded in what Germany mostly feared: to transform the euro into the lira. And Italians are very happy.
It is like building a Ferrari with the 500 fiat engine.
It looks great, it costs much less than a Ferrari and it does what a Ferrari is for: it is a status symbol.
Because most people do not buy a Ferrari to go 300 km. pe hour, it is not even possible.
In italian Freeways you have the limit of 140 and it is unthinkable to drive at 300 km. on a normal road.
So why do you need a Ferrari? To show that you can afford it.
Most italians DO NOT want to go back to the lira.
Mostly because it shows the "old" "unimportant" "weak" country.
While having a currency like the euro, in common with strong states like Germany, is like having a Ferrari: you can show who you are.
So, what is the ultimate goal if you cannot afford a strong currency?
Adopting a strong one and using it like a weak.
A Ferrari with the 500 fiat engine, that is it.

How to show your brand the best way...

T shirts are like jeans, once you wear one, you will always do.
Of course not the same. May be trying to find the special one, the one nobody has, but everybody would like to have...
That is why it is getting so popular t shirt screen printing, because thanks to screen-printing, digital printing, heat transfers, you can have the most unique item.
For example for company meetings or seminars all employees could display company branding, logos and campaign messages on t shirts, polo shirts, water bottles and anything you can think of.
Besides identifying the team, it can easily be used as a way to publicize the company brand.
If you do want something really special and that lasts forever, and it is really "washingproof" you can also have embroidered shirts.
The nice thing is that you can even suggest your pattern, color, design, or simply chose among the vast selection of prints and embroidery.
And absolutely the best is that you do not even need to order a huge number of items, orders at Specialty-t-shirts start from a number as low as 25...
If you still have doubts or problems deciding what you really want or like, you can easily solve them: there is a wonderful online catalogue, where you can simply look or search for the items you are looking for.

Germany goes green

In the German state of North Rhine–Westphalia you can find a farmer that understood what being "green" means.
Till recently he dedicated his life to his job: growing potatoes and raising pigs.
But his newest businesses point to an extraordinary shift in the energy policies of Europe’s largest economy.
In 2003, a small wind company erected a 70-meter turbine, one of some 22,000 in hundreds of wind farms dotting the German countryside, on a piece of his potato patch.
He gets a 6 percent cut of the electricity sales, which comes to about $9,500 a year.
He’s considering adding two or three more turbines, each twice as tall as the first.
The profits from those turbines are modest compared to what he makes on solar panels.
In 2005 he learned that the government was requiring the local utility to pay high prices for rooftop solar power.
He took out loans, and in stages over the next seven years, he covered his piggery, barn, and house with solar panels.
Even though the skies are often gray and his roofs aren’t all optimally oriented, from the resulting 690-kilowatt installation he now collects $280,000 a year, and he expects over $2 million in profits after he pays off his loans.
Stories like this help explain how Germany was able to produce 20 percent of its electricity from renewable sources in 2011, up from 6 percent in 2000. Germany has guaranteed high prices for wind, solar, biomass, and hydroelectric power, tacking the costs onto electric bills.
And players like him and the small power company that built his turbine have installed off-the-shelf technology and locked in profits.
For them, it has been remarkably easy being green.
What’s coming next won’t be so easy. In 2010, the German government declared that it would undertake what has popularly come to be called an Energiewende— an energy turn, or energy revolution.
This switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy is the most ambitious ever attempted by a heavily industrialized country: it aims to cut greenhouse-gas emissions 40 percent from 1990 levels by 2020, and 80 percent by midcentury. The goal was challenging, but it was made somewhat easier by the fact that Germany already generated more than 20 percent of its electricity from nuclear power, which produces almost no greenhouse gases.
Then last year, responding to public concern over the post-tsunami nuclear Angela Merkel ordered the eight oldest German nuclear plants shut down right away.
A few months later, the government finalized a plan to shut the remaining nine by 2022.
Now the Energiewende includes a turn away from Germany’s biggest source of low- carbon electricity.
Germany has set itself up for a grand experiment that could have repercussions for all of Europe, which depends heavily on German economic strength.
The country must build and use renewable energy technologies at unprecedented scales, at enormous but uncertain cost, while reducing energy use.
And it must pull it all off without undercutting industry, which relies on reasonably priced, reliable power.

How much habits matter

The led light is the clear example of how much habits matter.
Led lights, mass-produced as tiny individual diodes, can be configured into any shape you can imagine.
In the future, they could cover large surfaces, curved or flat, mimicking the light that comes through windows and skylights.
I actually love those designer multicolored, multishaped lamps..
Yet for all their flexibility, the way they’re most likely to show up is as something that looks approximately like a light bulb and gets screwed into a traditional light socket..
That is ridiculous. Edison’s bulb had to be roughly spherical in order to contain a vacuum while withstanding atmospheric pressure..
Because of this, more than 100 years later, we have to cram LEDs into something that requires spaceage fins to keep it from overheating?

Safety and peace of mind in a technology driven world

To prevent audiophiles from making multiple copies of the CDs, Sony programmed the Van Zant disk, and dozens of others, with a hidden code called a "rootkit" that secretly installed itself on hard drives when the CDs were loaded onto PCs.
Soon enough, hackers began designing viruses to take malicious advantage of the hidden program, and a Sony boycott had begun.
What to do?
Nothing else than adopting a Spyware Removal.
But better than that would be, to prevent cases like this, which are getting very common in a world of escalating threat of spywares,is looking for high quality technical support.
There are companies that offer a remote support platform, so that you won’t even need to bring your computer to a shop.
But you can easily get the connection to a certified remote computer technician.
With a few simple clicks, the technician will be securely connected to your computer any time you need his services after receiving your permission to do so.
You can have unlimited support at All IT Supported .
They promise three hours response for all your IT infrastructures.
And what about having Hardware and software installation, maintenance and repair, Virus removal, blue screens and all manner of computer problems, all included in your Computer Repair Service?
That means safety and peace of mind in a technology driven world...

Good luck and Allahu akhbar...

If your next business target is the Middle East you should first acquire some knowledge about business culture, business etiquette, meeting protocol and negotiation techniques.
It is of the utmost importance to bear in mind the great diversity within the region because not all regions share a common religion, language and culture.
Islam is not only the religion, it is the culture that permeates all levels of society.
One very important rule is to avoid trying to do business in the Middle East during the month of Ramadan, a period in which Muslims fast from dawn till dusk.
Also business hours general activity is reduced depending on the nature of the company or organization.
Their hallo is traditionally the Islamic greeting 'Asalamu alaykum' (peace be with you).
Even though you are not expected to use it, it would sound very polite and friendly.
If your business is going to be mainly on the Internet it is advisable to use a company that knows well how to deal with it.
The internet is the same, but the approach for example to middle eastern ppc management can be in a special way.
You should also carefully choose a Middle Eastern search engine marketing firm.
Your website must be able to reach as many customers as possible so that you will need a middle eastern search engine optimization firm.
If you need a kind of negotiation, remember the Arabs were a trading people and are excellent negotiators.
Remember also that they like to take their time, since decisions are made slowly.
Bureaucratic formalities tend to add to delays.
Do not use high pressure tactics as they will be counter-productive. What can I say more? Good luck and Allahu akhbar...

How to prevent an IT tsunami

"Bank of America has become the poster child for how not to transport data.

Over the weekend, the Charlotte, N.C.-based financial institution announced it had lost backup tapes containing the personal and financial information of 1.2 million customers.
The missing tapes contained U.S. federal government charge account information -- and the personal information of federal employees and U.S. senators."
One cannot be but surprised that certain things can happen, especially when it comes to Bank of America, but it is easier than one can think...
People tend to never do anything until they're burned. Before having a true disaster, an IT tsunami, usually no one thinks it is worth spending the money to protect themselves.
But IT IS.
That is why choosing the right company to help with the Disk backup proves very often to be the right insurance...
It is enough it happens once and you understand how much for the rest of your working life.
Besides, if you chose the right company, when the worst happens, they can help you to restore your data.
The newest and probably best system to store safely data is RAID (redundant array of independent disks, originally redundant array of inexpensive disks) which uses more than one disk drive to divide and replicate data among them.
The drives are said to be in a RAID array, the new way to be accessed by the operating system as one single drive.
Originally they began with five Raid levels (standard schemes) now you can have up to six.
The Raid systems can be classified as Failure-resistant (systems that protect against loss of data due to drive failure), Failure-tolerant (systems that protect against loss of data access due to failure of any single component) and Disaster-tolerant.
That gives extra protection against loss of data, and better help in restoring lost data.
The distribution of data can also be done with software instead of multiple hardware. Of course to achieve the desired protection against physical drive failure, a RAID must be properly set up and maintained by an experienced operator.

How to get and keep a good ROI

My friend Marcus had since long a well ranked website and that, in addition to the fact that he sold good merchandize, made him rich.
"Much richer than what I would be had I invested in a fancy shop in the main street of Barcelona.” he says...
"It cost me very little; I could do my job from home, with few employees and a very little investment."
That is the secret of reaching a good ROI.
"In the beginning, when the Internet was at its dawn, when the websites were few, I could do the job by myself, he says, now I decided to delegate to somebody who can do the job much better than me, so I decided for seo consulting services.
And my decision, so far, has proved to be right."
"Not only have I kept my number of sales, but thanks to good seo consulting services, having a better position on most search engines, I even increased my number of customers"...he goes on...
"But, seo consulting services do not mean just getting a better position on a search engine, they include link building, content creation, hourly SEO, all things that are precious for my business, that I wouldn’t do by myself and, what is most important for me (you know I am a Swiss living in Barcelona, but still a Swiss in my heart), they cost very little... Beyond nanotechnology

Over time, as scientists were able to shrink the size of transistors, they could add more and increase the efficiency of circuit boards.
But with transistors getting down to lower nanometer scale, further downsizing is increasingly difficult. Now, a team from the University of Pittsburgh is improving on silicon electronics using--you guessed it--a form of vacuum technology.

The Pitt researchers noted that in a typical solid-state device, electrons often experience collisions or become scattered, (Sound effect: analog slowing and deepening of voice) slowing them d-o-w-n.
(Sound effect: traffic jam sound)The scientists redesigned the vacuum electrical device, meshing it with solid-state electronics.
They created nanoscale vacuum channels that give the electrons a clear, no-collision path.
This speedier movement of electrons could make for faster, more energy-efficient transistors.

I do not care what they do, I care for the goals they reach.

Everybody dreams of position 1, just one is able to achieve it.
But in web marketing it is good enough until position 10 or 20, which looks easier, but it is not, considering the number (daily growing) of websites.
Once may be it was enough to have a nice site, good media texts, nice wording and you could have a chance to be among the firsts for quite a long time.
Not anymore.
That is why they invented seo, which is the way to get a good position, but also that is not enough, what you need is a good performing seo.
Do it yourself is very difficult, time and energy consuming.
To be on the top also your knowledge of search engine must be on the top, which means you have to be constantly adjourned of all algorithms and links exchange, and social media and so on...
What you need is a good and experienced company which deals with any kind of search engine optimization: 1st page rankings, increased traffic levels, sales and a positive return on investment.
In my opinion the last is the most important, because, at the end of the day: I do not care what they do, I care for the goals they reach.

Bye, bye Minitel

France is switching off its groundbreaking Minitel service which brought online banking, travel reservations, and porn to millions of users in the 1980s. But then came the worldwide web. Minitel has been slowly dying and the plug will be pulled on Saturday.

Many years ago, long before the birth of the web, there was a time when France was the happening-est place in the digital universe.

When trust was the value

"At the risk of sounding like someone who remembers only the bright spots of a golden age, I think it's worth exploring some of the values of the leaders who first shaped Silicon Valley, because they provide a sharp contrast to those of recent Internet entrepreneurs. The values of Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Larry Page of Google, and Mark Pincus of Zynga are currently influencing not only the business decisions their companies make but also the values of many other new Internet businesses.
When I arrived at Hewlett-Packard in 1965, the company was already a $300 million giant. Bill Hewlett's and Dave Packard's ideas and principles were in evidence everywhere.
I learned a great deal listening to them in meetings and watching them manage. Dave's memorable quote, "More companies die of indigestion than starvation" -- roughly translated, "Focus, stupid" -- became one of my own guiding principles.
I learned that sharp focus ensured great execution and created loyal customers.
Dave's values became the company's values and the employees' values.
His concern for the customer became the company's concern.

The company was focused on delivering advanced technology of great value, then servicing and supporting the customer to make sure he derived value from what he bought. Customers trusted Hewlett-Packard.
I remember one customer who so trusted the salesman who took care of his account that he let the sales rep purchase what he needed.
That period of trust went on for a long time. The salesman told me his secret: He never bought anything for the customer that the customer did not really need."

Looking for a career?

One of the most effective marketing is, in my opinion, the affiliate marketing. It is a performance-based marketing in which you find: a business (the merchant), the network which offers multiple campaigns that the affiliate can choose, the affiliate who is the publisher, and of course the customer.
Blue Global Media specializes in unique performance marketing solutions that you cannot find anywhere else and offers them both to the affiliate AND the customer.
It is an Affiliate network founded in 2005 by company CEO Chris Kay, and since then developed into a network that maximized earnings both for affiliates and advertisers.
It provides Internet marketing methods, search engine optimization (SEO), paid search engine marketing (PPC - Pay Per Click), e-mail marketing, and display advertising.
The goal of the company is an ever better performance which of course results in more conversions, higher payouts, better earnings.
And if you have any doubt remember, as they say: they do not offer a job, they provide a "career".
Why not trying the Payday affiliate program?

How NOT to sleep at night

"A hacker claiming to have broken into networks of dozens of banks and stolen customer data, has released as proof a file that contains names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers in plain text, but no credit card numbers.
"I penetrated over 79 large banks, I've been targetting these banks since 3 months," read a tweet from the Twitter account of Reckz0r.
"Actually, I didn't hacked VISA & Mastercard, I hacked the banks, #Chase..etc."
Everything you need NOT to be able to sleep at night...

Could you hope to find anything better?

People now a day tend to be a little bit spoiled; they take everything for granted, especially when it comes to computers and Internet.
They seldom remember the times when the computer memory was so small you were mostly limited to text or the Internet when the speed was just a few Kbits and it took hours to see a picture.
I remember the first websites were so poor of images compared to the ones of today, and the main thing you had to keep in mind was to be able to make something nice looking, with all the needed information’s, but "not too heavy", because the customer didn’t like to wait, and if it took a little bit more, he just clicked on "stop” and went away...
Today you have so much freedom, you can use all kind of pictures, even small videos, the important is that you choose the right LiteSpeed Technology hosting on 8-core Xeon.
In this way, whoever wants to see your site, will have it in a few seconds, no need to press "stop” and go away...
And the good thing is that everything you can dream of having with a web hosting (besides the speed) comes together with servers with the most competitive pricing.
Could you hope to find anything better?

If you want to be found, you must be where they look for you...

The Internet is a wonderful way to find whatever you want.
From the marmalade recipe to the latest technological gadget review.
Whatever you want to know is there.
At the reach of just a click of the mouse.
That is why it is essential for a business owner to be there.
If you want your customers to find you, you MUST have a presence online.
But that is not enough.
They must also find you.
In the U.S. alone, approximately 16 billion search queries a month are conducted on the internet, but that doesn’t really mean that if they are looking for the stuff you sell they will find you.
It is a war among websites.
And the victory is being there, in the first places, when they look for you. Otherwise, it is like if you were not there.
But the fight gets even more interesting when your customers are mostly local. In one way it can be more difficult, because if you use the right keywords, the right optimization, it is for nothing that, for example having a pizzeria in San Francisco, you reach people who live in New York.
That is why, in this particular case, you need mostly a local SEO.
You need somebody who is able to produce the right local search optimization.
How?
For example using the Google+ Local platform, where your company can be registered adding to the name and all features also photos and videos of the locations, so that,as a reward, Google gives a more prominent placement on its search results.
You can even add a map and details about the specific location, so that it gets very easy to find you.
Another way can also be adding your site to the local directories.
When somebody in San Francisco needs a pizzeria in the town, usually looks in the local search.
Another way to upgrade your website could be using social media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Groupon, Flickr or Foursquare, or the simple reason that if you are looking for customers, you better look where they are...
If your business is local, also the search must be a local search.

Good SEO softwares can drive performance

The worst mistake in marketing your business is to compete with your competition on the same things.
That only leads to escalation, which leads to lower prices or higher costs unless the competitor is inept.
Companies should strive to be unique.
Managers should be asking, "How can you deliver a unique value to meet an important set of needs for an important set of customers?" Then comes the second step.
Which is planning and when in lack of valuable experience, using somebody else´s experience.
When you talk of franchise marketing, it should be clear that your company should remain unique and in the same time using the common strategy and tools of your collegues.
For doing so there is nothing better than sharing the expenses and using seo friendly cms.
And what could be the best web marketing software that you could use?
Usually when it comes to a franchise business they use to build, and manage one website per franchise location, so that they can compete with local providers.
This means more costs and time.
But there are on the market web marketing and automation platforms that can change this strategy, focusing on all network members growing with their number.
While your business stays unique, the marketing increases the chances of a better position in the major search engines.
Besides this seo technology offers you the advantage of a a built-in online quote system to handle the sales process, fully integrated with payment gateways.
This really represents the easy-to-use, cost-effective marketing tool that any online franchise marketing shoud have.
Operational effectiveness is, in essence, extending best practices. Good SEO softwares can drive performance.

The 11 years old who got it clear

There is a story about a financial guy who one day in 1929 got a tip about what stocks to buy from a shoe shiner, he said "That was the moment I understood it was time to quit..."
A video of an elevan years old Canadian girl who perfectly understands what is going on:

Video Games became much more than games

When the Kinect was introduced it was clear that was much more than just video-game.
The early adopters of the Kinect were not content just to play games with it.
The object synthesizes an arsenal of sophisticated components: a fancy video camera, a “depth sensor” to capture visual data in three dimensions and a multiarray microphone capable of a similar trick with audio.
Combined with a powerful microchip and software, these capabilities could be put to uses unrelated to the Xbox.
Like: enabling a small drone to “see” its surroundings and avoid obstacles; rigging up a 3-D scanner to create small reproductions of most any object (or person); directing the music of a computerized orchestra with conductorlike gestures; remotely controlling a robot to brush a cat’s fur.
Microsoft’s chief executive announced that the company would release a version specifically meant for use outside the Xbox context to indicate that the company would lay down formal rules permitting commercial uses for the device.
Does progress flow from a corporate entity’s offering a whiz-bang breakthrough embraced by the masses?
Or does techno-thing success now depend on the company’s acquiescing to the crowd’s input? Which vision of an object’s meaning wins?
The Kinect does not neatly conform to either theory.
But in this instance, maybe it’s not about whose vision wins; maybe it’s about the contest.

Social Marketing is the old "word of mouth"

The most important thing for any online business is to have an effective ecommerce strategy planned.
Ecommerce consultant such as ECommerce Partners can help a business plan out a strategy to increase sales.
Marketing is what makes a difference between a business and a successful business. Once, long ago before the Internet was born, it was mostly a "word of mouth"matter. I remember, when Ferrero began its business, he personally used to go to the local open markets and sell his products, including the ancestor of Nutella.
He was successful, thanks to the "word of mouth", you tried it, you liked it, you told your friends and they told other friends and so on.
But it was only thanks to his genius and the right marketing that the Nutella ( and the other Ferrero products) became known worldwide.
Today you cannot be successful unless you are online.
Because it is THERE that your customers look for you.
But, exactly as in the local market, you MUST have the best position, the place where the biggest number of customers finds you.
And the strategy is the same.
You do not call it "word of mouth", you call it social marketing, but it works exactly in the same way: somebody tries it, likes it and tell his friends, who tell their friends and so on.
But the Iternet is MUCH bigger than the local market, you have more chances. But you also share the place with many more competitors...
So, in the end, who wins?
The one who has the best strategy, and of course the best partners with the most effective ecommerce strategy...

The entertainet

"The Internet is being turned into The Entertainet.
Nothing wrong with that per se, BUT after we get done chopping and channeling the Internet (versitile, duplex, distributed control, datagram, medium performance highly flexible general purpose network) into the Entertainet (dedicated, simplex, centralized control, semi-virtual circuit, high performance, custom purposed network) then we are going to build an Internet again.

Because we will still need an Internet, once we are done putting the Entertainet in place." What does really mean?
The Internet was born as end to end network, the content was created on one end and sent to the other.
While TV for example was broadcasted from the center to the end.
Entertainet is a way of going back, a copy of TV.
The Internet is a revolutionary mean because it is INTERACTIVE, while TV is a passive way to entertain...
Next month, a little more than a year after the National Science Foundation (NSF) launched the Future Internet Architecture (FIA) program, 100 researchers will gather in Palo Alto, CA, to discuss the progress in “content-centric networking” (CCN) – a new direction for organizing Internet traffic that aims to provide greater security and faster connectivity.
Content-centric networking represents a shift from today’s focus on using network addresses to find content.
Instead it proposes a protocol that specifically defines and tracks content.
Backers say it represents an evolutionary change similar to IP forwarding.
“We think it’s definitely a concept that will change how people design high performance hardware".
The goal of the meeting will be to have the research community share work, exchange ideas, and begin to shape the kind of content ID and router frameworks needed to make the CCN concept work.
“We are trying to define and validate what you could think of as an Internet Protocol for content,” “It’s this kind of work with people experimenting with apps and use cases that will push toward the design of a core protocol,”

You know what you get AND what you spend to get it...

Most people don't really understand why one site would perform better than another on a search. And many still have no clue of what SEO means.
That is why the websites of the people who know are on the first page of Google.
Well, it is not enough to KNOW, you also need to KNOW HOW to be there and, even more important, how to last there.
Once, in the early times of the Internet it was not even so difficult, because the people who really knew were few and also, there were not SO many websites online.
Now a day it is getting tough and tougher every day.
So tough that if you really want to be successful, it is better to find an expert.
It is true that it is money that usually comes back as customers, but when it comes to pay...you know what you spend, but you are not so sure that it will make THAT difference.
What about affordable seo services?
That sounds good, but it sounds even better if affordable means: you pay if you get results...
That is gold for my ears, because, nothing is better than being sure to spend the money AND have a good ROI for what you invested.
Imagine a company that offers the strategy that best fits your needs and budget and then establishes goals for each marketing campaign.
And you? You pay if you reach the goals...

How can one do more with less?

The business environment has never been tougher.
Companies need to grow their revenues while reducing IT costs.
How can they achieve these seemingly contradictory goals during lean economic times?
How can one do more with less?
If you have a small or medium sized company and you cannot afford or do not want to have an IT department, but you still need one, the best solution could be a "shared" one.
What is the use of a complete IT department if you need it just for a few tasks?
Or why bothering to have one, when you can find the best on the market for a fraction of what it would cost you?
Never heard about IT support services?
That means you can have all the technical support you need, whenever you need it, and the best services and solutions, with the best employees with no employee.
Many companies, including government contractors, legal, associations, financial services and information technology providers have already adopted this solution.
The IT support includes monitoring of desktops and servers 24/7, software applications, Help Desk for all OS, even maintenance, Firewalls, Routers, Devices and if you need...VPN's.
If you need professional network design and network implementation services or simple computer network support, and do not want to invest in a special IT department, you can have the best team of professionals, always with the last technology, always on top and on service.
Whenever you need network support services, 24/7, with the best innovative network support plans and solutions, that is the best answer.
And what about disaster recovery planning and solutions?
How much would it cost to lose most of your data, just because you haven’t thought it possible? What about an online backup?
And if ALL this and even more comes for an affordable fixed monthly fee...it is like a dream...isn’t it?

All what you need to know about websites

Everyday thousands or millions of websites are created, published and promoted. Designing one is not a big task anymore.
You can find all the tools you need, all the templates you dream.
You chose the one you like, the one that in your opinion would better suit your business or whatever you want to show on the Internet, you fill the empty spaces, upload you pictures and there it is...
You still have to find the best web hosting for it, but also that is not a big problem. That done you still have a problem to solve: how to bring traffic to it.
Without customers all your work is for nothing.
But usually one doesn’t just want customers, he wants a lot of customers.
Which is what everybody would like to have...but, as we said there are new ones everyday, so which gets the most?
Obviously the one that is better optimized for the search engines, the one that has a good number of good links.
How to do?
Also for that, with a little patience you can find the right website that will help you, suggesting not only how to create, improve but also to promote a website.
The link exchange is a service ready available (if you know how) and you have to follow three easy steps, and then...seat and relax and sometimes also beginning to count revenues...
If you are a beginner, you can register for a free account and learn and see. Sometimes even if you are already an intermediate or an expert, you still have to learn how to find and reciprocate links.
In life one should never stop learning.

Quality always pays off.

Companies should make marketing their top priority for two main reasons: continuous and accelerating market change and hyper competition.
These two factors mean that they need to spend more of their time looking outward rather than inward.
If they do that, they can more accurately determine how well marketing is driving the company’s growth.
They should focus on four areas: making the company truly market-focused and customer-centered; strengthening the marketing planning process and the effectiveness of resulting plans; revamping the marketing budget process; and developing the company’s marketing and sales personnel.
Concerning the third area of focus they should add a marketing plan that focuses on the online marketing.
That includes improving website position with Search Engine, Optimization (Local Map Optimization),Pay Per Click, Social Media sites Optimization.
For doing so they should be careful in choosing the right Seo reseller.
And for the right one I mean the professional who can really deliver the right long lasting solution.
I am talking of long lasting, because everybody knows that the major search engines change algorithm quite often and if your website is badly optimized, doing something tricky to cloak its keywords, or participating in dodgy link exchanges, quite often, after a glorious dawn there comes the moment in which it is smacked so hard to see the stars, as the saying goes...
With the right and serious SEO reseller plans, you should not be worried about, or need to re-optimize your content for any update of any search engine.
If marketing is your priority, so the quality should be.
Quality always pays off.

The new frontier of education: Online College

"Efficiency, however, has its cost.
There are going to be winners and losers in the new world of networked higher education.
The success of Harvard, MIT, Yale, Stanford and Princeton online programs will prove a challenge to many colleges and universities.
Why pay a quarter of a million dollars to go to a second-tier school when you can get a Harvard education online for little or nothing?
This also raises the question of whether one is paying for an education or certification when attending college.
Facing skyrocketing debt and dismal job prospects, many students and their families may even ask whether the difference between the virtual and the real Harvard is worth the cost."

Sometimes, knowing the people who know, proves to be essential

At the beginning of the commercial Internet any company which needed traffic on its website tried to find the way to reach the maximum number of customers with the best search engine marketing.
Needless to say that at "technologysaurus age“, as I read in an interesting article, being on a good position on certain search engines was more than enough to be known.
But as time passes and the number of websites grows exponentially, it gets more and more difficult, so that it is extremely important to find new ways.
With the dawn of the social medias, as you can read in the same article, it is essential to find the way to a social media optimization of your site, so that you can use in the best way this very effective mean to reach the biggest number of customers.
If you think that the users of Facebook are in the neighborhood of 500 million, (as read in another article of the same author), you can understand the importance to be able to use this way.
Real search engine marketing experts know how to reach not only more traffic, but the right kind of traffic, besides being able to let users to follow link suggestions from their friends and contacts, when social connections are used as a filter and kind of recommendation tool.
It is a way of sophisticated "word of mouth" that still proves to be the best way to reach your customers.
Nevertheless, you certainly cannot under evaluate what a big task it is to actually be able to reach certain positions.
If everybody wants to be there and for everybody I am talking about millions, being THE ONE is not so easy...
That is why one should always look and chose the best search engine marketing firm, the one that not only promises, but also delivers...
That is why reading the right articles and being informed is NOT a waste of time, on the contrary, to know the people who know sometimes proves to be essential.
And needless to say, when you really know what you are looking for, that is when you can make the best choice.

The one million dollar answer

Could somebody explain me one thing? Where has all the money gone? Five years ago ALL banks were so full of money they would give a mortgage to any beggar passing by. And then suddenly the Federal Reserve, The ECB have to print (digitally) trillions after trillions and it is never enough. If the banks are bankruptcy, people have no money anymore; the state has no money, who got it? And what does he plan to do with it?

The future as I see it

It is a world where nobody is paid anymore, or everybody is paid a lot of money that is worth nothing. It is a world where I do if you do, or I give if you give. What they have achieved, and I do not even think it was their ultimate goal, is that we went back in a few years of many thousand of years. In those moments at the dawn of civilisation where discussions were solved with wars and they still hadn´t invented the money and the way to cheat with it. When we will all finish of pretending that paper is worth depending on the numbers written on it, we will stop pretending that we have laws and institutions. Freedom will be licence and trust will be something so rare we won´t know what it is. But then we will begin. Again.

Private digital police

"The accidental censorship of the St. Margaret's community website highlights a larger reality of the Internet age: The digital networks and platforms we depend upon for all aspects of our lives -- including the civic and political -- are for the most part designed, owned, operated, and governed by the private sector.
Internet and mobile services empower us to organize and communicate in exciting new ways, and indeed have been politically transformative in democracies and dictatorships alike.
But the connectivity they provide has also created tough new problems for parents, law enforcement, and anybody wanting to protect their intellectual property.
Democratically elected governments face political pressure from a range of vocal and powerful constituencies to take urgent action to protect children, property, and reputations.
Increasingly, however, the job of policing the Internet is falling to private intermediaries -- companies that are under little or no legal obligation to uphold citizens' rights.
In effect, they end up acting simultaneously as digital police, judge, jury, and executioner."

Beyond any reasonable doubt

The mass-BitTorrent lawsuits that are sweeping the United States are in a heap of trouble.
After a Florida judge ruled that an IP-address is not a person, a Californian colleague has gone even further in protecting the First Amendment rights of BitTorrent users.
The judge in question points out that geolocation tools are far from accurate and that it's therefore uncertain that his court has jurisdiction over cases involving alleged BitTorrent pirates.
As a result, 15 of these mass-BitTorrent lawsuits were dismissed.

Knowing your customers is the key to success

Of the many articles that can be sold online, there are some that are better fit than others.
I would never buy a dress online, I perfectly know that the right one is the one I can try and see, touch and examine.
Well I am a tough customer and never spend money without being sure what I am buying is exactly what I am looking for.
So, first I decide what I need, then what I really like to find and where I am going to look fot it.
But for something like a car, it is a completely different matter.
A car is the kind of article that can be shown in its best and cheapest way online.
A picture very often can show what a limited space cannot.
That is why a car dealer needs a lot of space and can afford to show few models the way he should.
On the Internet he can have a website with as many pictures as he needs, showing the same model in every detail and with the appropriate surroundings.
What he mostly needs, besides a nice website, is the right way to be found. That is why it is of the upmost importance to use the right Dealer SEO.
He can concentrate in his business, caring for his customers and leave the burden of optimizing his site to the experts.
Having a good placement now a day is not so easy and keeping it is even more difficult.
And it is not anymore just a matter of the right keywords or meta tags...for example to be up with the latest technologies he must master a lot of IT, which could mean the need to spend a lot of time, admitting to have the basic knowledge (which not everybody has).
For example, to promote his site is very useful to use the social media, to know Facebook app for car dealers, but how many can declare themselves as guru of social media optimization?
And last, but not less important, it can be very useful to read posts on a blog especially dedicated to car dealers, knowing something more like Interrogation Techniques to track the search on his own website.
When you have some enquires, it is nice and useful for example to know where the customer came from... which keywords he used or the sites he was before coming in yours...
I find it extremely interesting and many times I changed my site in base of the customers search...
If you know what they are looking for, it is easy to offer it...

When the rules do not apply equally

Imagine a network of private highways that reserved a special lane for Fords to zip through, unencumbered by all the other brands of cars trundling along the clogged, shared lanes.
Think of the prices Ford could charge. Think of what would happen to innovation when building the best car mattered less than cutting a deal with the highway’s owners.
A few years ago, Tim Wu, a professor at Columbia Law School and a leading thinker about the evolution of the “information economy,”warned members of the House judiciary committee that this could be the fate of the Internet.
Companies offering broadband access, he said, should not be allowed to discriminate among services online.
If they did, the best service would not always win the day.
“It’s not who has a better product,” he explained.
“It’s who can make a deal with AT&T, Verizon, Comcast or Time Warner.”.
That world may be right around the corner. Last month, the online video powerhouse Netflix started a political action committee to complement a budding lobbying effort in support of the idea that all content must be allowed to travel through the Internet on equal terms. Netflix is trying to build a coalition of businesses to make the case for this open access, also called network neutrality.
“Net neutrality has broad consumer and voter support,” Reed Hastings, the chief of Netflix, said in an interview. “It is important for the sake of public access that the rules apply equally.”
Netflix’s immediate concern is Comcast, the biggest broadband provider in the country, whose cable brings the Internet to one in five connected homes. In March it announced that watching its Xfinity TV service on the Microsoft Xbox 360 would not count against subscribers’ broadband data allowance of 250 gigabytes a month.
This, Mr. Hastings says, will give Comcast’s television lineup an edge over rival shows streaming through the device, which will consume subscribers’ data allotment. And nobody cares more than Netflix, whose movies and TV programs account for about a third of the peak online traffic.
“If I watch last night’s ‘S.N.L.’ episode on my Xbox through the Hulu app, it eats up about one gigabyte of my cap, but if I watch that same episode through the Xfinity Xbox app, it doesn’t use up my cap at all,” Mr. Hastings wrote on his Facebook page. “In what way is this neutral?”
Comcast argues that its Xfinity move is not subject to the Federal Communications Commission’s neutrality rules because the video travels exclusively on its network and not on the public Internet.

Strictly prohibited to communicate in private

When Saudi Arabia and the UAE both announced a ban on BlackBerries on the ground that they were physically unable to monitor the communications conducted on those devices, the Obama administration actually condemned the Saudi and UAE ban, calling it “a dangerous precedent” and a threat to “democracy, human rights and freedom of information.”
Blackberry communication data are sent directly to servers in Canada and the company which operates Blackberry — Research in Motion — refused to turn the data over to those governments, “authorities [in those two tyrannies] decided to ban Blackberry services rather than continue to allow an uncontrolled and unmonitored flow of electronic information within their borders.”
What is strictly prohibited is the ability of citizens to communicate in private; they can’t have any ‘uncontrolled and unmonitored flow of electronic information’.”
Six weeks later, the very same Obama administration embraced exactly the same rationale — that it is intolerable for any human interaction to take place beyond the prying eyes and ears of the government — when it proposed its mandatory “backdoor access” for all forms of Internet communication.
The UAE pointed out that the U.S. — as usual — was condemning exactly that which it itself was doing.

The unavoidable death of ACTA

The controversial Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is dead, and the world's copyright industry will have to change to suit people, rather than vice versa.
Many thousands of people are willing to protest against rules which they see as constraining the openness and innovation of the Internet.
This is a strong new political voice.
I welcome it, even if I do not always agree with every how and when.
The Internet has to become a place of freedom, openness, and innovation fit for all citizens, not just for the techno avant-garde.
Industries should not follow the business models of the past, otherwise they would limit opportunities in the future.
The past was based on limitation and control, today we talk about customer focus, sharing and interactivity.
Limited business plans would strangle innovation and freedom. The treaty is still waiting for a ratification vote in the European Parliament, probably the whole thing will be called off.
The reality is that people don't want ACTA, and while such schemes seem perfectly reasonable in private, they will fail if put to a vote.
